SOMETHING ABOUT Wil
“Wilful Misconduct is an immensely thought-provoking and riveting show- clever, informed and witty prose doesn’t come with more necessary expletives, frequent laughs, and burning social conscience than Anderson’s.” Beat Magazine 2010.
2010 also saw Wil’s TV career go from strength-to-strength. The third season of his AFI-award winning show The Gruen Transfer was the ABC’s highest rating regular series, and the spin-off election specials Gruen Nation were the highest rating shows on the network since Kath and Kim in 2003.
“He appeals to all because he mixes exuberance, intelligence, boyish dagginess and well-read opinion. He is amiable and argumentative, a sweary wit who is adept at drawing on the innocence of his country-boy background while remaining an urban loudmouth.” Sydney Morning Herald 2010.
Wil was also nominated for a Gold Logie for Most Popular Personality on Australian television, and was named GQ Magazine’s Media Personality of the Year at their annual Man Of The Year awards.
“I challenge anyone to not like Wil Anderson. Comedians emulate him, women want to be with him, men want to shout him drugs.” RHUM Magazine 2010.
2010 also saw Wil launch his new podcast TOFOP (30 Odd Foot Of Pod) which was named by iTunes as one of the best new podcasts of the year.
“Anderson is a smart arse, but he’s a very talented smart arse.” The Herald-Sun 2010.
Wil also spent part of the year doing shows in the USA, including regular appearances on Chelsea Lately and headlining the world famous Hollywood Improv.
